Integrated reliability centered distribution system planning — Cable routing and switch placement

Distribution utilities aim to operate and plan their network in a secure economical way. The prime focus of this work is assist by developing new integrated approach which considers the impacts system reliability distribution planning (DSP). This merges different problems together solves them two-stage process, as follows: 1. cable routing optimal location number switching devices (circuit breakers reclosers); 2. tie switches. Moreover, possibility installing options, with prices capacities, included. optimization algorithm designed using mixed-integer programming (MIP). developed analytically evaluates relationships between components dynamically updates indices, failure rate restoration time, every node system. has been tested on two systems. Despite complexity exhaustiveness problem, MIP converges provides solution for studied scenario. results show that an enables obtain more comprehensive solutions. understanding impact parameter variation categorize priorities decision making process optimally invest respect reliability.
